Job Description: The HVAC Superintendent will be responsible for the management of HVAC construction projects including management of associated subcontractors. 

 

Role of an HVAC Superintendent:

  • Site safety, productivity, schedule, quality control and trade and supplier coordination.
  • Work in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team.
  • Works with the client and AHJ’S to ensure projects success and future relations.
  • Reports to the General Superintendent or higher level project superintendent when multiple supervisors are required for large projects.
  • Rely on the team to help accomplish items not familiar with. Able to ask for help when needed.
  • Understand & Communicate to all field personnel the owners goals regarding construction.
  • Maintain Positive relationship with the owners, architects, engineers and other project members.

Job Requirements – Site Safety:

  • Minimum of OSHA 10 certification
  • Insure job safety requirements are understood and implemented at all times.
  • Continuously strives for “Zero Injury” on all projects
  • Leads on-site safety meetings, held weekly.
  • Review the trades contractors safety program and SDS information
  • Reporting and documentation of all near misses and recordable accidents.
  • Trained in CPR and basic First Aid
  • Documentation of all safety meetings, violations, near misses and accidents.

Skills and Job Requirements:

  • Good understanding of HVAC systems
  • Good understanding of Chiller installations
  • Good understanding of HVAC Controls and Electrical
  • Basic construction knowledge and scheduling work flow.
  • Oversees all phases of the construction project from set up to close out.
  • Creating & maintaining 3- OR 4- week look ahead schedules on a weekly basis.
  • Understanding scopes of work and deliveries of materials tied to each scope.
  • Understanding of project budget.
  • Coordinate punchlist process and close-out procedures with P.M. and owners representative. Strive for all trades to maintain a “zero punchlist” policy.
  • Schedule and procurement of deliveries.
  • Maintains a clean and organized job office and job site.
  • Good people and organizational skills.
  • Good problem solving and communication of problems to project team.
  • Maintain and produce legible, detailed daily reports.
  • Turn in time sheets each week, coded to appropriate project and work code.
  • Maintain safety meeting minutes, safety committee minutes, coordination meeting minutes and logs associated with the project.
  • Maintain expense log and cost code receipts from purchases, deliveries and submit to PM for approval.
  • Able to work the basics in MS EXCEL, Word, Emails and basic computer knowledge.
  • Assist clients with schedule updates and product literature.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PAY SCALE: $65,000 – $85,000, based on qualifications
