Nick Witek
President of W&J
Nick Witek has worked for W&J Construction since 1980. He became President and Owner of W & J Construction Corporation in 1999, specializing in Design-Build, Construction Management and General Contracting services. He has been in the Construction Industry for over 30 years and has been involved in all stages of construction projects for Brevard County, Harris Corporation, Northrop Grumman, Melbourne International Airport, Catholic Diocese of Orlando, Canaveral Port Authority, Brevard Community College, and the Cities of Rockledge, Cocoa and Melbourne. Nick also has extensive experience in completing high profile government projects for Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, NASA, Delaware North Park Services, and the Astronauts Memorial Foundation. Some of his projects include the Apollo Saturn V Exhibit, Rocket Garden Renovation, LC-39 Operations Support Building, Launch Operations Control Center, KSC Air Traffic Control Tower, Astronauts’ Memorial Foundation Center for Space Education, and the Astronaut’s Memorial Space Mirror.
Prior to W & J Construction, Nick worked in Advanced Programs for Martin Marietta in New Orleans and was there for the rollout of the first External Tank for the Space Shuttle. Before that, Nick worked in International Space Programs for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland from 1969-1979.
Nick was born and educated in Pennsylvania, receiving his B.S. Degree in Electronics from the University of Scranton. Nick went on to earn an M.S.E.E. Electrical Engineering degree from the Catholic University, Washington, DC (National Science Foundation Fellowship).
Nick has held a Florida General Contractors License since 1983. He has served on the Brevard County Contractor Licensing Board since 1997 and as Chairman since 1998. He is a founding Board Member of the Construction Industry Advisory Board, Florida Tech (2001), and is the Chairman of the Scholarship and Intern Committee. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Astronaut Memorial Foundation since 2006, Treasure from 2008-2009, and is currently Vice Chairman. Nick served as Vice President of Associated Builders and Contractors from 1994-1995. He is a member of both the Space Coast Early Intervention Center Board and the Cocoa Rotary Club since 2003.
Charles Murray
Vice President & Senior Project Manager
A.S. Electrical Engineering – Brevard Community College
Having worked for W&J Construction since 1973, in most phases of construction, Charlie is well known and widely respected in the contracting community of Brevard County. He is also liked by all project owners and Brevard County building officials. Has been personally involved in 90% of all jobs W&J has performed for the past 30 years. Responsible for Project Management on major jobs, team member for negotiated work, and purchasing.

Sheryl DeRosia
Secretary/Treasurer
CPA candidate with experience in corporate management and accounting since 1990 including over 7 years of experience in Public Accounting. She is responsible for our contracts and accounting, auditing, financial statement preparation and analysis, payroll,and tax preparation. Sheryl is a graduate of the University of Arizona with post-graduate work there and at Rollins College.
Erik Costin
Estimator / Project Development
As estimator, Erik is responsible for helping to pull together all the pieces to provide a complete bid to our clients. By developing relationships with clients and subcontractors, he uncomplicates the client’s construction experience and gains their trust. Erik has a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Lasell College in Massachusetts and is a current member of LEAD Brevard.
Steve Carlyle
Chief Estimator
Steve is responsible for providing total pricing for projects we are bidding or budgets we are providing Steve has been in construction estimating since 1984. He has estimated virtually every type of project in a variety of industries. He holds a degree from the University of Tulsa.
Shelley Sutherland
Executive Assistant
Shelley provides high-level administrative support to the President/Owner of W&J. She is responsible for preparing responses to RFP/RFQ proposals, as well as preparing bid packages and scopes for Construction Management projects. Additionally, she designs and produces company and project information for marketing and business development. Shelley has an Associate of Science in Marketing and has had previous experience with W&J, as well as. being Marketing Coordinator for TLC Engineering for Architecture.
Dan Herman
Project Manager
Dan Herman graduated with honors from the University of Florida M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction. His credentials include LEED Accredited Professional, ASHE Healthcare Construction Certification, RCRA S30 Hazardous/Toxic Waste Management training, FDEP Qualified Stormwater Management Inspector, IAQ/mold remediation training, and several OSHA certifications. His commercial project management experience is supported by past Department-head positions in Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and Construction for major national home builders. Dan focuses on a combination of tight control and dedicated customer service to deliver successful projects.

Carin Sadlon
Secretary/Receptionist
In addition to Carin’s duties as secretary and receptionist, Carin assists the Estimating Department by making contact with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit quotes for projects we are bidding or budgeting. She distributes plans and specifications so that accurate pricing can be received. She also makes follow up contact to assure that we receive competitive pricing in all trades.
Kristy Snow
Assistant Project Manager
Kristine graduated from the University of Florida with both Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Master of Building Construction from the M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction. Her commercial project management experience is diverse in size, scope, and sector (both public and private). Her strengths include client/customer interface, attention to details and commitment to quality. Contact Kristy
Jody Horton
Superintendent
With over 25 years of experience with W & J, Jody has extensive knowledge in many aspects of commercial and industrial construction. His experience includes Project Superintendent, General Foreman, Carpenter, Equipment Operator, Iron Worker, Mechanic, Welder and Plumber. This experience gives him the ability to supervise and manage any job to successful completion. Jody’s specialty training includes: Corps of Engineers, Quality Assurance Training, Basic Electronics, Certified Welder, and 30 Hour OSHA Certification.

Oscar Johnson
With over 30 years of experience in the Construction Industry, Oscar has been with W & J for over 25 years and is our Field Foreman. Oscar assists our Superintendents with day-to-day activities, and oversees our tool and equipment inventory.
